Abstract

The project aims to study cyclogenesis over the South Atlantic. With the use of global model analyses a statistic study will be undertaken on the trajectory, rates of decrease in pressure and intensity of the surface winds. An atmospheric model of limited area will be used to study various cases highlighted by the statistics, from the incipient cyclone over the Pacific to its explosive phase over the Atlantic. A model of surface waves of the sea will be used to study the waves generated by intense cyclones. (AU)
