Abstract

We propose to address one of the major mysteries of galaxy evolution, the effect of environmenton galaxy evolution in clusters, with novel Bayesian statistical methodologies beyond the Gaussian approximation. We will expand the hierarchical Bayesian model framework developed in de Souza et al. (2016), to disentangle the intertwined relation between environment (e.g., cluster-centric distance), galaxy properties (e.g. presence of AGNs, morphology, metallicity) and the star-formation activity in field and cluster galaxies. Thus providing an unprecedented level of statistical sophistication to probethis puzzle. (AU)
