Abstract

The aim of this study will be to analyze the acute and chronic responses of combined training on inflammation, metabolic factors and image, serum and molecular markers related to brown adipose tissue (BAT) and browning of white adipose tissue (WAT) in type 2 diabetics. The sample will be composed of type 2 diabetic subjects, of both genders, aged between 40 and 60 years and body mass index (BMI) <35 kg / m², divided into control group (CG, n = 15) and combined training group (CT, n = 15). In the pre and post experimental period will be evaluated analyzes: functional (muscular strength, aerobic fitness and resting metabolic rate), body composition (plethysmography) biochemical (basic clinical, incretins, inflammatory and BAT and browning of WAT stimulants), image (Tomography Positron Emission coupled with computed tomography (PET-CT)) and molecular (gene related to morphology/functionality of subcutaneous fat cells). Serum analyzes of BAT and browning of WAT stimulants will also be accessed right after the first and last training session. The CT program will be composed of strength training (~ 30 min, 1-3 sets of 8 to 12 repetitions, 50-75% of 1RM, 1-1 min. and 30 sec. of interval) followed aerobic training (35 min. at 50-60% VO2max) in the same session, performed 3 times weekly for 16 weeks. It is expected that the CT program increases serum of BAT and browning of the WAT stimulants, associated with molecular changes in fat cells and improve of metabolic, inflammatory and body composition variables.
