Abstract

It will evaluate the influence of probiotics in the production of aglycone isoflavones, metabolites (equol and O-DMA) and its effects on clinical parameters of menopausal women. For this will be conducted a prospective study of 60 women, grouped randomly into three groups: Group isoflavones, which will use isoflavone capsules (150 mg/day, of which 60 mg will consist of isoflavones); Isoflavones + Probiotic group, which use capsules of isoflavones (150 mg/day, of which 60 mg is isoflavones) associated with a probiotic product (2 mg/day, containing 109 CFU per sachet) and Group hormone therapy, which uses estradiol (1 mg/day), norethisterone acetate (0.5 mg/day). It was established as inclusion criteria for the study women aged 45 to 60 years of age, date of last spontaneous menstruation for at least 12 months values follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) greater than 40 mIU/mL and current presence of symptoms of estrogen deprivation. In the four months period will be evaluated the intensity of climacteric symptoms through the MRS questionnaire (Menopause Rating Scale), monitoring of gynecologic disorders (cytology and endometrial thickness), in addition to clinical and anthropometric parameters, with blood sampling for biochemical analysis, urine search of equol and O-DMA metabolites, and feces for analysis of intestinal microbiota, in order to identify the predominant phyla in the microbiota of equol producers.
