Abstract

The Structural Characterization Laboratory (LCE) is one of the most complete infrastructure in Brazil in the area of structural and microstructural characterization of materials offering advanced services in the field of Electron Microscopy and Diffraction rays X. The laboratory is part of the infrastructure Department of Materials Engineering (DEMa), and meets several other groups within the CCET and external drives to UFSCar. The LCE is coordinated by Prof. Dr. Walter José Botta Filho, and the dissemination and information is made for on the internet page: http://www.lce.dema.ufscar.br/index.html. We request the purchase of new equipment of X-ray diffraction (XRD) for the LCE. This is one of the techniques most used by LCE and the two devices currently in operation, in urgent need of replacement. (AU)
