Abstract

The separation tank developed in previous project proved to be an innovative and effective solution for use with the pipes system and water collection basins existing containment in electrical substations, receiving approval from both electric Utilities companies and government environmental authorities. However, for requirements of many customers, it should withstand temperatures of 170 o C in the occurrence of fire in the transformer; situation in which the hot oil in the transformer is drained to the tank. To prepare the tank for these conditions, the structure, the sensor and absorbent mats need to be improved to withstand such temperatures. The resin with fiber glass reinforcement developed does not meet these requirements preventing the acceptance, sale and application of existing separation tanks. In order to overcome this technical difficulty, this project will adapt and analyse the performance new composite material consisting of a polymer matrix (synthetic resin) to be used in the manufacturing process of the Water-Oil Separation Tank for High Operating Temperature, as well as adjust the sensors and apply new oil absorbing materials capable of operating under these conditions. With the technical improvement of the Separation tank for reliable operation in high temperatures and production of prototypes in "industrial" formats capable of being marketed at reasonable costs, along with a consistent business plan that maps the future market, creates a strategy for quantifying and acquihiring the resources required for manufacturing, and develops marketing and sales plans, it is expected that the chances of success in the market insertion of the present product on the domestic market will be the best possible.
