Abstract

According to SNIS (National System for Sewage Informations) studies, announced by december of 2014, the brazilian sewage and water infrastructure is much behind what it supposed to be. Less than 50% of brazilian houses have sewage collection. One of the pipes which can be used for the sewage and potable water transportation is the double-wall HDPE corrugated pipe, which is superior than PVC or concrete pipes for it is not toxic, strong against chemical attacks, stronger against installation and transportation movements and more efficient comparing the weight per meter and the soil compression loads. In Brazil, the technology capable for producing this corrugated pipe comes mainly from Germany, Italy and Canada. Our project is developing a corrugator with national technology that allows the production of these double-wall corrugated pipes from 40 up to 200mm of external diameter with lower costs and faster productivity than the foreign technology.
