Abstract

The purpose of this proposal is to seek funding in support of a Visiting Researcher to FEQ/UNICAMP, Professor Paul Stuart in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Polytechnique-Montréal. The main objective of the visit is to advance research concepts in the areas of process integration, energy efficiency, and process flexibility with focus on the transformation of Brazilian and Canadian pulp mills into biorefineries. Whereas general in their application, these concepts will be worked by advancing the FAPESP grant entitled "Development of a bioprocess with high energy efficiency for the flexible production of n-butanol/ethanol integrated to a kraft pulp mill" (2015/07097-5/Bioen Program) led by the host researchers. The support being requested is for a period of 4 months, i.e. 1 April 2017 through 31 July 2017. (AU)
