Abstract

This proposal presente the possibility of growing single crystals of HfV2Ga4 ZrV2Ga4 and ScV2Ga4 compounds. The preliminary results presented here show that these compounds exhibit superconducting behavior can be understood in the multiband scenario. The multiple superconducting gaps signature are observed in specific heat measurements for HfV2Ga4 compound. However, without the influence of grain boundary behavior and any spurious or secondary phases, it would only be possible to be observed in high-quality single crystals. For this reason, the main goal of this project is to explore two crystal growth techniques, as well as their feasibility for these systems. In this sense, the visit and cooperation of Prof. Dr. Adolfo Franco Junior is of fundamental importance due to his experience of it in characterization of high quality single crystals, as well as the exchange of experience between two groups that have common issues.
