Urban land governance: concept, practices and tools

Constitution and consolidation processes of urban land policies have not been definitive and durable. They have demonstrated the absence of a consistent and integrated land policy with the predominance of the hegemony of market actors, resulting in numerous land conflicts. In this context, it is essential to understand the mediation procedures of these conflicts in establishing land governance models. The objective of this research is to understand the urban land governance through its concept, practice and instruments. Research will be conducted in three phases: a) analysis of critical thinking on land governance; b) empirical survey and the development of the case of study(ies) in the Campinas Metropolitan Area; c) analytical synthesis. Through this research it will be possible to build new reflections on urban land governance. (AU)
