Abstract

Having theoretical assumptions geosystemic approach to landscape, this paper aims, from the spatial analysis of different uses assisted on the coast of São Paulo / Brazil and the coast of Havana / Cuba, to set a landscape classification considering the diagnosis of environmental status of both regions. Therefore, will be considered the analysis, definition and cartographic representation of the levels of natural weaknesses, land use and the features associated with them, with the outlook to relate the paintings of fragility, uses, capabilities and planning actions assisted in the study areas. A study like this proves importance considering the following questions: First, because they are areas with complex physical performance characteristics when considering the various factors governing the organization of forms and processes in the coastal environment; Second, because they are areas of secular settlement, they are under pressure from human action over five centuries; Third, because these regions have significant economic activities for the economy of their regions; although they have different use pressures, given the different political /economic frameworks in which both regions are structured in a historic route, the recent changes in land use as from the development of agricultural activities, port, touristic, either by urban expansion and /or the extraction of mineral resources cause great pressure on the environment. Finally, it is a topic where the conceptual construction on the landscape classification under the gaze of Geoecology Landscape, permeates several discussions, covering the scales of spatial observations and representations. It is expected as a result to contribute to the theme's theoretical discourse in analysis and that the final products must contribute to the decisions that could minimize conflict situations. (AU)
