Simulation of plasmonic effects for sensing

Abstract

In this short-time stay, Dr. Pablo Albella will cooperate with our group performing calculations related with the absorption (heating radiation) and scattering of two-dimensional bowtie nanoantenna arrays. These numerical data will be complementary to the theoretical results obtained in our group, as part of the Postdoctorate research project of Jorge Ricardo Mejía Salazar (FAPESP #2016/12311-9), in order to have a complete understanding of experimental results obtained at the National Synchrotron lab (LNLS). Calculations by Dr. Pablo Albella will be performed by using advanced numerical techniques, such as discrete dipole approximation or commercial finite element software such as COMSOL multiphysics or the Finite Difference Time-Domain Method (FDTD).
