Abstract

This exchange research proposal aims to strengthen the collaboration of the groups from the Manchester Universtiy and UNICAMP participating in the DUNE and SBND experiments, in the field of liquid argon scintillation detection. In particular, the collaboration will be articulated in three major items: the development and production of reflective foils coated with wavelength shifting materials for the SBND experiment, the development of a novel technology for liquid argon scintillation light detection and the design of an advanced light system for the DUNE experiment. The collaboration between our groups could boost significantly the technology of scintillation light detection in liquid argon, with great advantages of the DUNE and SBND experiments. A significant part of the exchange will be devoted to outreach activities, with the organization of workshops and seminars, aimed to attract students and researchers from Brazilian and UK Institutions.
