Abstract

The idea of the project is to synthesize different plasmonic materials with applications in sensors, light propagation and molecular information. For this purpose, the project is split into three parts. The first one is to develop different methodologies for the synthesis of nanoparticles with chiral-plasmonic properties with subsequent studies of chirality transfer on the surface. The chirality transfer on the surface is the first evidence that is expected of plasmons-mediated transfer of molecular information. Having these experiments well optimized, the second part is to transfer chirality to achiral molecules, which are part of different molecular recognition model systems. The third part is to use all the knowledge previously acquired to synthesize plasmonic materials in the form of segmented rods / wires and transfer chirality in a vectorized way mediated by the plasmons present in wires and rods for long distances. Having this in mind, the research project is intended to coach students in different levels, as well as support a new research group through understanding of different systems that complement each other and are not studied in Brazil.
