Abstract

The project aims to execute searching, indexing, reading and analysis of reviews, news and articles in Brazilian periodicals about three posthumous works by Cruz e Sousa, namely: Evocações (1898), Faróis (1900) e Últimos sonetos (1905). The aim of the research is to increase the knowledge about the initial reception of these works, which had the effect of definitively and favorably modifying the judgment of Sílvio Romero on the poet of the island of Desterro (Florianópolis). This new research represents development of research conducted under the auspices of CNPq from 2010 to 2013 about "The first impact of Missal and Broquéis (1893) in the Rio de Janeiro periodicals".
