Abstract

World Health Organization estimates that there are three rats per person in the world and they transmit more than 55 diseases, so keep the infestation level low is mandatory in many places. However, pest control operators do not have efficient tools to perform the monitoring. Their only choice is to periodically visit the customers and manually check each monitoring point, looking for evidences of the presence of rodents - in large customers, such as food industries, hospitals and shopping malls, there can be hundreds of points. Monitoring of rodents is the most time consuming and expensive task for pest control operators and still very inefficient, since the information is inaccurate to evaluate the real level of infestation. The project goal is to develop intelligent monitoring points capable of notifying the presence of rodents automatically, remotely and in real time. The monitoring points will be equipped with sensors that send data to a unit central installed on the monitored place. The unit center connected to the Internet will send data to a cloud server. Pest control operators can access data from all their customers through a web interface at any time and from anywhere, saving time and money by not making unnecessary visits, and improving the service they provide based on accurate information.
