Abstract

A portable device that allows growing vegetables in domestic environments (indoor), may be a useful strategy to meet a market that is demanding in fresh, ready to use and high quality products. Also, it can satisfy the consumers who have little (or no) space for the use of the conventional production way (home gardens) and those demanding in natural products, free of pesticides. However, for the development of this instrument in Brazil, several challenges still need to be overcome. as: i) the lighting system; ii) the type of substrate; iii) the type of nebulizer (output rate and numbers), iv) as well as the installation and operation of the equipment (prototype).
