Research, development and validation of an innovative thermal bath produced in Brazil

Abstract

The company Tecnal industry, commercial, and Importação e Exportação de will hold the project Research, development and validation of an innovative thermal bath produced in Brazil Equipment’s para Laboratories LTDA, based in Piracicaba (SP), which since 1976 has actively participated Brazilian technological, scientific and industrial scene, offering high tech equipment to increasingly competitive markets. The company operates in the food, chemical, petrochemical, scientific research and education. Currently, no thermostatic bath produced in Brazil meets the specifications to the needs of the National Synchrotron Light Laboratory (LNLS); there are no national patents relative to innovative product to be developed in Tecnal. The objectives of this project are: 1) Produce a national thermal bath with low maintenance due to the LNLS needs; 2) The company Tecnal be a national choice with competitive price compared to imported equipment. The design proposed in this project will consist of two (2) treatments (T1 and T2) in order to overcome the technological challenges related to the following specifications: Control parameters (temperature controller, control range, type of sensor, control accuracy and uniformity); Parameters cooling and circulation (cooling capacity, capacity of the tank, circulation pump, flow and pressure pumping); Mechanical parameters (office material, thermal insulation, outlets and water supply); Electrical parameters (type of resistance, operating voltage, electrical protection and power); Other features and functionality (external sensor inputs and control outputs, flexible configuration and alarms, type of communication, transportation and telemetry). The great innovator especially the T2 treatment is the telemetry system, or remote data transmission, which may assist in predictive diagnostic part of the Tecnal team to guide the predictive maintenance of thermal baths providing for the replacement of components, so to facilitate the operation of the equipment at LNLS. The expected result of this proposed project is that the research conducted at Tecnal can overcome the technological challenges to meet the needs of the LNLS and significantly contribute to increased knowledge of the team involved.
