Abstract

Maximizing environmental, economic and operational performance is an essential strategy for the sustainability of companies and an economic sector in the market. This research aims to propose an integration model of the Cleaner Production (CP) practices with the Lean Production (LP) practices for companies in the Telecommunications sector. For this, multiple case studies will be carried out in Brazilian Telecommunications industrial companies, and scenarios will be developed through modeling, simulation and evaluation aiming to maximize the environmental, operational and economic performance of their production processes. Then, the resulting variables and the three performances will be analyzed in an integrated way to, then, evaluate the viability of the guidelines proposed for the integration. With this, it is expected to identify the economic and operational impacts caused by the integration of environmental practices into the companies' processes, and propose a model for the integration of CP practices with LP practices. With these results, it will be possible to foster sustainability and stimulate the competitiveness of this economic sector in the Brazilian and international markets. This is a proposal for structuring an emerging four-year research center of the "Júlio de Mesquita Filho" São Paulo State University (UNESP - Univ Estadual Paulista) as well as creating and structuring a research line in this center. This project is a continuation of the Researcher Responsible's doctoral thesis and presents a contribution to a theoretical and empirical gap for the academic environment and for the Telecommunications industrial sector.
