Abstract
Meso- and nanostructured systems receive a lot of attention because of the improved performance they bring to the areas in which are applied. Within this context, methods of preparation aiming at certain structural arrangements, or structures designed to achieve some specific function and property, play a fundamental role in the development of new materials. The present proposal deals with the evolution of the line of research that has been developing in the laboratory of Photochemistry and Functional Materials - EEL/USP. The subjects involved in this proposal are: i. the scale up and diversification of the Glycerol-Urea route (patent number BR 10 2017 011345-0) for the production of new nanostructured systems; ii. development of core-shell systems between metal oxides and metals (MO/Metal) for studies and photocatalytic application aiming at production of hydrogen through water-spliting and photodegradation of organic substrates; iii. synthesis and characterization of organogels and organic crystals based on semiconducting organic molecules with self-assembly capacity. Analytical methods and mathematical modeling will be developed for the elucidation of synthetic mechanisms. (AU)
