Abstract

1. Multiuser Laboratory of the Institute of Arts - IAThe Institute of Arts has a Multiuser Laboratory - Amphitheatre - with a total area of 300m2, divided between 100m2 of Italian stage and 200m2 of audience for public accommodation in 187 seats. The spectacles, always directed to the front of the stage, count on a space of dimensions: mouth of scene (9,6m), depth (7,16m), height up to the light stick (4,5m) and coxia, on each side (2.94m). Next to the amphitheater is a technical booth for the manipulation of audiovisual equipment for filming, video editing, lighting and sound. It is a fundamental space, mainly for the didactic and research activities of the Music, Performing Arts and Body Arts courses, since the stage is the place where the artistic formation is accomplished through the capacity to present work in public. Some of the presentations (shows, performances, theatre plays, concerts etc.) are practical results of theoretical research developed by students and teachers of the Institute of Arts, together with the development agencies (FAPESP, CNPq, CAPES, etc.). Another destination of this same space are the audiovisual projections from Media Studies students, as well as of academic events that include the mentioned courses as well as Visual Arts. Thus, the aforementioned laboratory is a strategic place in IA, since all courses make different uses of their facilities. 2. Videoconference roomsThe Institute of Arts does not yet have videoconferencing services and it hopes to have such services. The installation is expected to take place in room 03 (Postgraduate), which has 78m2, two network points, 4 sound boxes, sound table, 2 points of 110v electrical network, a 220v grid point and 60 seats and also in room 02 (Postgraduate), which has 20m2, a network point, 2 points of 110v electrical network and 10 places. It is a technology that enables the execution of lectures, interviews, didactic activities like classes and others, different forms of final evaluation in undergraduate and graduate levels as well as meetings. Videoconferencing, therefore, allows academic and administrative activities to be performed with people who are not in the same physical space. The use of the services will be made under the responsibility of the IA professors and teachers, who will be at the forefront of the required activities. So, graduate activities will be elected as priority, due to the necessity of exams with, necessary, with people from other academic places. The IA has four post-graduate programs (Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Music and Multimedia). The figures are representative: 121 professors and teachers and 384 graduate students (masters and doctorates studentes). Due to the high demand, we chose to install the services in two rooms. The videoconference rooms can thus favour and increase academic exchanges at a distance. (AU)
