Abstract

This project will contribute to the knowledge about the use of plant pigments and their derivatives as electron donors. We intent to investigate the mechanism of electron transfer and develop applications in artificial photosynthesis and sustainable energy storage. This research topic is related to fundamental studies of chemical and photochemical reactivity, but at the same time may have implications in the chemistry of materiais and energy storage devices. This interdisciplinary project teams up four research groups with clearly complementary specialties, whose joint dedication will serve to consolidate the strategic academic and research collaboration between the University of São Paulo and the University of Uppsala. Research groups have published four articles together since 2016 and the resources of this project will further promote this collaboration. (AU)
