Equipment to Multiuser Mechanical Workshop of ICT- UNESP/Sorocaba

Abstract

The Sorocaba-UNESP Institute of Science and Technology, originally created as a "Sorocaba / Iperó Differentiated Unit", was established at a meeting of the University Council of UNESP on August 29, 2002, as part of the vacancy expansion plan proposed by Prof. Dr. José Carlos Souza Trindade, Rector of Unesp at the time. The Institute started its activities in August 2003 and today has two Undergraduate Courses: Control Engineering and Automation and Environmental Engineering. In relation to postgraduate studies, the Institute counts on the participation of professors in 4 postgraduate programs: i) Post-graduation in Materials Science and Technology (multicampi); ii) Post-graduation in Civil and Environmental Engineering (multicampi); iii) Postgraduate in Electrical Engineering (Bauru) and iv) Graduate in Environmental Sciences (based in Sorocaba).Currently, there are 4 research groups, with activities in the areas of environmental engineering, control engineering and automation, materials sciences and clean technologies. It currently has a built area of about 9000 m2, in order to meet the new demands of the Unit, especially those related to these Research Groups. In this context, the main demands / needs related to the research in the Institute were discussed and raised, and after discussions in the colleges, the Congregation approved the use of resources related to the Institutional Technical Reserve FAPESP-2016 for the acquisition of a Mechanical Lathe for the Multi-User Mechanical Workshop which is in the phase of reform and electrical adaptation.
