Abstract

For a long time, street football was considered one of the most natural ways to learn football. However, over the years, it has become increasingly difficult to find suitable spaces for the practice of it, so football schools have appeared as the most appropriate place for learning football. Thus, the rich learning environment provided by street football has been replaced by a highly rigid training, based on a traditional sports pedagogy, where players tend to have more contact with highly technical and decontextualized exercises that emphasize the execution of specific movement patterns prescribed by practitioner. However, these learning environments tend to inhibit the development of perceptual, cognitive and motor skills. Therefore, Nonlinear Pedagogy emerges as an important theoretical model that can support the design of a player-centred and game-based approach. In this perspective, the teaching and training process should allow the young players to have access to representative training tasks, which enable the information-action coupling and the development of their tactical performance. However, information is still scarce about how practitioner should manage the tasks different levels of difficulty and complexity, so that he can adapt it to players' skill level. Thus, the present study aims to investigate the relationship between the design of representative training tasks and players' skill level. For this, the project will be organized into three studies: i) Study 01, which intends to analyse the influence of rules' manipulation and Small-Sided and Conditioned Games structures (SSCG) used on the tactical performance of the players and teams of different categories; ii) Study 02, which intends to analyse if teams composed by players with different levels present a similar tactical performance in tasks with different levels of difficulty; and iii) Study 03, which seeks to investigate the influence of the use of Inductive and Deductive SSCG on teams tactical performance composed by players with different skill levels. Thus, a better understanding of how to design representative tasks, taking into account the level of tactical performance of your players and training content, can facilitate practitioner in the development process of smart and creative players.
