Abstract

Due to the disturbed human-animal relationships, problems arise, reflecting in zoonosis transmission. The planning of such control measures involves the knowledge of the community perception in relation to dogs and cats, human demography, also the development of interactive strategies and intersectional activities for the social promotion on community responsibility for animal well-being, and for zoonosis control. The present work aims to diagnose the risk factors, and the formulation of a control and prevention, and a education in health programs, on the basis of the data produced, to improve health and quality of the human-pet relationship in the Vargem Grande, Parelheiros District, in São Paulo, Brazil.
