Abstract

Several connections used in three-phase transformers will be analyzed with the purpose of obtaining AC-DC converters of multiple pulses, of low current distortion in the utility and, consequently, with high power factor. The rectifier topologies, based on the Y and Delta-differential connections generalized and unified, will be carefully explored and classified as for the harmonic distortion of the current characteristic, as for the processed kVA by the core, as for the number of winding and the amount of conductor used and, essentially, as for the agreement or disagreement of the specific standards. The complete theoretical study, the mathematical analysis and the comparative results will be accompanied by digital simulation and for specific mathematical programs, with numeric and graphs results. With accomplish of the results, some laboratory prototypes will be designed to validate the optimization process and the proposed classification. As application, intends to use the multipulse rectifier as a stage of power factor correction, through cancellation of harmonic current in the mains. Depending of the state of the researches, the work will still be able to contemplate a second stage, connected in the output of the bridge rectifiers. This stage can involve a DC-DC converter or a DC-AC converter, both pulse width modulated (PWM). The candidate has an appropriate profile for this request, because she already worked for two years with the same advisor of this project and with FAPESP scholarship. The developed subject was in the same area of the multipulse converters, motivated by a concluded project with the title: Converters CA-CC of multiple pulses. Besides, it was always a good student, with good marks, dedicated and very assiduous. (AU)
