Abstract

A systematic investigation of hyperfine interactions will be carried out, for heavy fermions type intermetallic compounds containing Ce as one of the constituent elements, using Perturbed Gamma-Gamma Angular Correlation (PAC) Spectroscopy. In particular, intermetallic compounds CePd2Si2 e CePd2Ge2 and CePdSn, CePdGe, CePdSb, which show interesting magnetic properties will be investigated. PAC measurements will be carried with 111In-111Cd probe nucleus substituting Si,Ge,Sn,e Sb atomic sites of compounds while 140La-140Ce will be used to study the hyperfine interactions at Pd and Ce sites permitting an extensive investigation of these compounds. The measurements will be carried out at different temperatures ranging from 1.4 K to 300 K. X-ray and neutron diffraction methods will be used to characterize the crystal and magnetic structures of the compounds under study. Experimental results of the hyperfine parameters will be compared with ab-initio alculations.
