Abstract

Intelligent analytical flow systems exploiting feedback mechanisms, improved conditions for detection and multivariate calibration will be developed. Simplicity, versatility and rudgeness are aimed in order to permit operation of the systems under field conditions. As applications, analyses relevant to agro-industrial and environmental studies will be focused. These include: i) determination of chloride and sulphate in natural waters from semi-arid regions, sulphate determination (optional) being accomplished only after real time decision; ii) adulteration assessment related to glucose syrups based on fructose and glucose determinations; iii) simultaneous determination of iron, titanium and vanadium in rocks, sediments and similar stuffs exploiting multivariate calibration. Moreover, strategies for improving mixing condiitons will be critically investigated in order to improve detection condiitons in flow analysis.
