Abstract

The main goal of this research work is to develop a flexible tool for the computation of the voltage stability security margin of distribution systems. This margin is related to the distance (in the load parameter space) from the current operating point and the maximum loading point. First, a method that was already proposed in the literature will be implemented. Then, an alternative method will be proposed and compared to the former in terms of robustness and computational efficiency. The new proposed tool will be useful also in the evaluation of the impact of distributed generation at the distribution level. Also, the method should be efficient enough to be used in online operation environments. (AU)
