Abstract

Object tracking can be defined as the problem of estimating the trajectory of a moving object in an image. This is a very important research area and its importance and complexity is reflected in the number of papers on the subject in the last years. There is still a large number of challenges to be faced, that motivates the continuous research on the area. This project will be a collaboration effort between the candidate and his advisors (R. M. Cesar Jr. and R. Hirata Jr.) to improve previous research done by the group. The idea is to discover a new solution to the problem of model actualization in the context of inexact matching between graphs for object tracking. The work will also treat video sequences where a dynamic background is involved. Mathematical morphology techniques will be used to solve this problem and complete the work.
