Abstract

The ionic liquids present diverse characteristics, which become them forts candidates for its use as electrolyte in ion-lithium batteries and other devices. Such characteristics are: not inflammability, it means that the battery becomes more safer; low vapor pressure, even at high temperatures; thermal and chemical stability, these characteristics make possible to increase the limit of the working temperature with security. Also they present electrochemical stability at high potentials and relatively high conductivity; beyond they do not present environmental problems. However, the main problems that present are the low ion-lithium transport number and the small swelling in relation to the materials of electrodes (anode or cathode). In this project, it is intended to get new ionic liquids electro- polymerized, using the substitution in the imidazolium cation with aniline or pyrrole. The electro-polymerization of the ionic liquids will lead to fix the organic cation, allowing the diffusion of ion-lithium. Also it will be possible to get films with similar characteristics to the ionic liquids; so that, it will expect that they possess a continuous interface with the electrolyte and in such a way the swelling process will be intensify producing a reduction of the contact resistance between the different materials (AU)
