Abstract After the discovery of the electronic properties of the conjugated polymers, initiated by the study of polacethylene, a new area of technological development appeared that of the electronic and optoelectronic organic devices. Organic thin films have been applied in electroluminescent and photovoltaic diodes, as well as is progressing their application in transistors. One of its disadvantages of organic materials in comparison to the inorganic semiconductors is their low mobility. Despite the progress observed, the higher mobility of organics are still three orders of magnitude lower than that of crystalline materials. However, other applications for organic transistors are already possible. For example, as switch for active matrix displays, as component for radio-frequency identification tags, as component of smart cards, in different kind of sensors, etc. This project has as goal to build transistor structures in which the carrier mobility along the channel can be modulated by the electrical properties of the dielectric interface.
