Abstract

The aim of this work is to study the applicability of the born global concepts, which mean those businesses that are born to be global, within the sugar-cane industry of Brazil, more specifically with respect to the production of the alcohol as a bio- fuel. This segment has experienced a significant expansion over the last years, with the entry of foreign resources and groups that aim the opportunities presented by this market. Thus, this work seeks to understand the real strategic reasons for such groups to have chosen the country to install their companies, with a view to the international market. Through the study of the internationalization theories and deepening the concepts of born global companies this research will be done through exploratory and descriptive studies of multiple cases, trying to identify the strategies that such companies have been adopting, and confront with the studied theories, in order to be able to make contributions to it.
