Abstract

Multiple emulsions are complex systems in which coexist O/W and W/O emulsions. They have numerous advantages over simple emulsions, but practically are not used commercially because of stability problems. In this study two multiple emulsions were formulated, one of them extremely stable, maintaining its characteristics for a period exceeding one year. The use of vegetable oils such as sunflower, sesame, and the low concentrations of surfactant allow that emulsions formulated herein are used as cosmetics. From this stage, we will try to encapsulate active in multiple emulsions, to check the release profile of differential systems.
