Abstract

This research intends to amplify the anthropological debate about sportive practices through the description and analyze of modalities played in different contexts. In the literature of anthropology of sports, the most consolidate works take the football as reference, even when research in Indians societies. In this way, the expansion of models elaborate by football enable understands his meanings inside the society that is practice, and show the relationship with others practices. The ethnographical point is the Upper Xingu, in researches realized among the Kalapalo of Tanguro, so the importance of fight (kal. kindene) in the investigation. Detached anthropological subjects about the people of this region, like the body construction and conception of Person, are directly linked with fight, social fact of extreme importance in everyday and ritual life. The proposal is to comprise the symbolical weight of this modality and his place in the native cosmology.
