Abstract

This research project aims the morphosyntax study of a Brazilian indigenous language, Pykobjê Gavião. The center of interest will be, over all, the delimitation of word classes of this language, based in morphology and syntax theories and models (GIVÓN, 2001; ANDERSON, 1985, among others), as well in other ready studies about this same language (AMADO, 2003; 2004) and in other languages of this same linguistic branch, Macro Jê (DOURADO, 2001; FERREIRA, 2003; ALVES, 2004, SANTOS, 1997; SOUZA, 1997; RIBEIRO, 1996), even so about studies in languages of other branches, like that Kamaiurá (SEKI, 2000). On the way getting the desired results, we will join theory about the referred subject to practical action, that is, field researches, where it will be propitious the proximity with native users of Pykobjê.
