Abstract

Introduction: Dentofacial deformity (DDF) is a skeletal and dental disorder, which accompanies orofacial myofunctional changes. These characteristics can be evaluated by means of myofunctional myofunctional evaluation with scores (AMIOFE) and by anthropometry that provides objective data for the evaluation of craniofacial morphology by means of a series of measurements of the head and face. Thus, facial morphology can be evaluated by different methods, considering hard parts and soft parts. Currently, three-dimensional (3D) technology comes to innovate and contribute to the analysis of soft parts of the face, however few studies have been performed. Objective: to analyze the relationship between myofunctional myofunctional clinical condition and three-dimensional anthropometric measures in individuals with standard DDF class II, standard class III and individuals without deformities. Methods: the study will be retrospective, through a database, with the approval of the Research Ethics Committee. Individuals with a diagnosis of FDD class II, class III and individuals without changes in facial morphology (controls) will participate in this study. The procedures will involve: myofunctional orofacial assessment with scores, using the AMIOFE protocol and three-dimensional analysis of facial morphology using the FastScan equipment. The results of the measurements will be tabulated and a statistical analysis will be made, using the Spearman correlation test, relating the AMIOFE variables to the three-dimensional facial measurements.
