Abstract

This project aims to develop and apply the phase contrast x-ray radiography to the study of articular cartilage diseases. The methods employed will be the diffraction enhanced imaging method and the propagation method using a microfocus x-ray source in the crystallography laboratory at UNICAMP as well as a DEI technique at the XRD2 LNLS beamline. Initially the samples used will be in vitro specimens from animals obtained from other institutes of UNICAMP. In particular our aim is to study the feasibility of implementing this technique in clinical trials related to osteoartrites diseases.
