Abstract

In this study our general goal is to make a review of some of the models that predict the expansion of the universe, trying to understand whether or not they can be used to explain the phase of accelerated expansion of the universe observed recently. More specifically, we shall investigate models where one assumes the existence of a dark matter coupled somehow to a dark energy in order to form a fluid with an exotic equation of state. In our study, we intend to verify which are the unique features of some of these models, such as the features related to the evolution of density perturbations. (AU)
