Abstract

Among the methods to distalize the maxillary molars in Class II patients, the intraoral distalizing appliances have proven effective in spite of generally they produce a considerable anchorage loss. This loss can be controlled with the use of devices such as intra-osseous mini-implants. The objective of this study is to evaluate the dentoskeletal changes in young patients with Class II malocclusion treated with First Class distalizer with and without mini-implants. It will be selected 30 young patients with Class II malocclusion to receive the First Class appliance, being divided into two groups, one without (G1) and another with installation of mini-implants (G2) for anchorage. The lateral cephalograms will be taken before and after the distalization movement to record significant dental and skeletal changes with the use of First Class appliance with or without use of mini-implants.
