Abstract This project proposes an analysis of socio-spatial inequalities in the urban space the Metropolitan Region of Campinas, starting from the exclusion/inclusion process. Aimed to evaluate the living conditions in different localities of the region, through the characterization of socioeconomic profile of the resident population and their housing conditions. For this, it is proposed that the measurement of such inequalities using synthetic indicators of exclusion/inclusion. The research methodology is summarized in the following stages: consolidation of a conceptual and theoretical framework; production of georeferenced database, building a system of synthetic indicators from the aggregation of intra-urban socioeconomic variables; comparative analysis of indicators to defining areas of inclusion and exclusion, and; interviews with key players to approach qualitative aspects of the inclusion areas and social exclusion. With the results of the work, it is expected to contribute to the expansion of knowledge about the socio-spatial structure of Metropolitan Region of Campinas, subsidizing the implementation of interventions that promote better management of urban space, as well as improvement of living conditions of the population. | |
