Abstract

The concept of education adopted in this research is to reference the contributions of Paulo Freire, Ernani Fiori and Enrique Dussel, for these authors to educate yourself is permanent action that develops over a lifetime. Through education, the subject perceives and gives meaning to the experiences, becoming able to lead their lives. We investigate meanings given by prostitutes in the educational processes consolidated into prostitution, we want to understand how these women the means to educate themselves, and incorporate knowledge, attitudes and values developed in their experiences at night. The materials analyzed for understanding of these meanings are the ones sold by prostitutes providing sexual services in São Carlos/SP. The research methodology will be developed based on phenomenology and the contributions of the philosopher Maurice Merleau-Ponty. Experiences, observation, field diary, conversations and interviews are characterized as methodological procedures for gathering and analyzing data. The interviews will be transcribed and read by the researcher in order to identify units of meaning, then it will develop a synthesis of the structure of the phenomenon investigated. As a contribution of this research, we intend to survey the knowledge to promote the unveiling of the face of education in the practice of prostitution, highlighting ways in which the harlot signifies your physicality, you and others in the process of educating yourself.
