Abstract

This project will study the effect of transporting their babies on the spine curvatures of the mothers. For such, experiments will be conducted with two groups of subjects: 20 healthy mothers, with their respective babies of approximately 10kg, and 20 healthy women. Bothgroups will have their spine curvatures and standing posture analyzed in the conditions without any load and carrying a doll (with 10kg of weight for the control group and with the same weight of her baby for the mothers). Only for the mothers, they will also perform the taskscarrying their own baby. The subjects will have between 18 and 40 years old e none musculo-skeletal alteration that could compromisetheir gait. The experiment will be performed in a laboratory equipped with tri-dimensional motion analysis system and force plate. The spinecurvatures and the posture sway will be analyzed to understand the effect of carrying a baby on the spine curvature of the mothers.
