Abstract

In the last years, Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) rapidly ascended as the Internet infrastructure transmission technology. Traffic Grooming refers to techniques used to combine low speed traffic streams onto high speed wavelengths in order to minimize the network-wide cost in terms of line terminating equipment and optical channel capacity efficiency. This project aims to investigate dynamic inter-domain Traffic Grooming in WDM mesh networks, when the beginning and the duration of data flows are know.
