Abstract

Orthognatic surgery has been developed to give function and esthetic for the patient with dentofacial deformity. The tridimensional position of the maxilla in relation with the cranium is transferred by the facial bowl to an semi-adjustable articulator. The use of facial bowl has been discussed with many authors about their accuracy and technique sensitivity. The occlusal plane given by the facial bowl helps the diagnostic and the planning of the models surgery. The real use of the facial bowl will be tested by this study in a lab study, simulating a possible error with different plane occlusal angles. The models will be measured by the Erickson Plataform and the data analysis will be descritive by the ANOVA test.
