Abstract

The purpose of this research project is to study the political activities of the imigrant women from Eastern Europe rooted in the São Paulo state between the years from 1924 to 1954, focusing in the groups of Russians, Polishes, Lithuanians and Romanians, who were under supervision and repression of DEOPS - Departamento de Ordem Política e Social (1924-1983). This proposal has as corpus documental a set of sources that are being researched by PROIN - Projeto Integrado Arquivo do Estado / University of São Paulo together with Fundo DEOPS/SP, in chage of São Paulo State Archive. We will aim to profile these foreign women registered by DEPOS/SP, identifying their political ideas and your participation in resistance movemvents; the birth of organizations for mutual help that get them together, and the reserved space to these womem within the comunities of imgrants and in their printed publications in Brazil and abroad. We will identify the speech of thePolitical Police with regards of this group of women, paying attention to the criteria for detention and deportation of the country and observing whether there was differential treatment between them and the foreign males. In other words, we will seek to understand and reconstruct the history of the womem from Eastern Europe within an Authoritarian, Nationalist, Xenophobic State that, not infrequently, used to relate their political and social activities to the imorality and the prostitution.
