Abstract

The music is always present in our daily lives, establishing a link between humans and art through sensation and pleasure. However, if we use music inappropriately, the noise may have an adverse impact on our hearing.Approximately 15 million people have hearing loss in Brazil and 350.000 can not hear anything. The cause of hearing impairment is diverse, and exposure to individual portable sound devices can be one of them. he large space for storage and long battery life of devices that users contribute to listen to music for hours without stopping, often in an amount beyond what would be advisable. The media has supported the prevention of hearing loss in the Brazilian population, providing data on its causes, effects and losses today, being a strong source of diffusing information and an efficient vehicle to support public awareness. However, the ideal would be to conduct truly effective prevention campaigns. Currently, these campaigns have been aimed at children and adolescents, warning about the dangers of loud music, exposure time using the earphones and appropriate for listening to music. The Telehealth is one of the tools used for health promotion, since it includes systems support the process of health care by providing more effective and efficient means of information exchange. Advances in technology, particularly in the last decade, has influenced much of the health care industry. In this environment, the field of audiology witnessed such changes. Therefore, the Teleaudiologia shows promise but is in the early stages of development, requiring systematic research in the areas of cost, and effectiveness tests acceptance. The use of multimedia materials may be more appropriate to raise awareness and health promotion in adolescents hearing. Therefore, the aim of this study is the development of a hypermedia material for this population.
