Abstract

Video-games carry ideological elements related with their contexts and the way players construct meanings is conditioned by their own histories and their sense of belonging to certain localities. Besides that, market-driven video-games tend to be produced on economically favored areas and spread to peripheral places. I am focusing on this conflicting meaning making process as an insightful way to suggest that playing video-games is a way to construct and reconstruct narratives about the world, about others and about ourselves.
