Abstract

This research aims to analyse international cooperation to the management of transboundary water resources in the Amazon basin and, especially, the implementation of the second phase of the Project "Integrated and Sustainable Management of Transboundary Water Resources in the Amazon river basin considering the climate change and variability", developed by the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (ACTO). This research will analyse two pilot projects of Integrated Management of Transboundary Basins in the Amazon regions of MAP and Napo river basin. It will consider probable impacts of the Initiative for the Integration of Regional Infrastructure in South America (IRISA), existing in these regions. Besides, it will consider the articulation of the communities to the integrated management of their water resources. Methodology is based on bibliographical and documental research and in data collected in the field, using primary and secondary source.
