Abstract

This research intends to develop a management system of a computer-aided diagnosis scheme in mammography, standardized by single routines of preprocessing, detection and segmentation of mammographic structures of interest, based on the data from the imaging process. The proposal is driven to an open source structure, which allows the integration of heterogenous modules. It is also based on previous developed researches supported by FAPESP, aimed to the development of dense breasts images processing techniques. The system will also be associated to the management of a mammographic images database so that the processing schemes can be applied directly to the base images. In addition, a content-based search system should be implemented in the database. Therefore an integration between the CAD scheme and the images database is intended in this project together an availability of a tools set, as content-based search using information from the CAD scheme and selection of regions of interest. This research is being planned to be totally accessible by the Internet.
